When doing an algebra problem and you come along something like this the best way to figure this out is to do 16 * 2 because that answer will be 16 when divided by 2.
16 * 2 = 32
- ( 32 ) / 2 = 16
this doesn't work because the answer would be -16 so make the 32 negative so that the negative cancel each other out.
You multiply $150 times 23% or .23 this equals 34.5 which is the amount you will be taking off (the discount) so then you subtract 150-34.5 which equals $115.50
