The fraction with the greater numerator is the greater fraction. Having the same denominator means that the numerator is out of the same amount of "pieces" as the other fraction. For example, 7/9 and 5/9
the denominators (the number on the bottom) are the same in both, while the numerators (the number on top) are not equal. So 7/9 is the greater fraction in that example.

I’m thinking of a number. When you multiply it by 3 and subtract 10 you will get a number less than 5. Form an inequality and so
sweet-ann [11.9K]

Answer:

3x-10

Step-by-step explanation:

Let x be equal to the number.

We can use what the question gives us to directly form a mathematical statement. When you multiply it by 3 (3x) and then subtract 10 (3x-10) you will get a number less than 5 (<5). Using this, our mathematical statement would look like this:

3x-10

To find the range of possible values, we must solve the inequality and isolate x.

3x-10

Add 10 to both sides

3x-10+10

Divide both sides by 3

\frac{3x}{3}

I hope this helps!

What is 9.562359123571283578 rounded to the nearest hundredth?
Katyanochek1 [597]
9.56 because you don't round up when two is the next number. (The hundredths place is the second number after the decimal, where the 6 is in the original number.)
