The slope of first line is m 1= ( 1 - 0 ) / ( - 2 - ( - 6 ) );
m = 1 / 4 ;
Because the second line is perpendicular to the first line, m2 * m1 = - 1 ;
m2 * ( 1 / 4 ) = -1;
 m2 = - 4 ;
The equation of the second line is : y - 3 = ( - 4 )( x - 2 );
y - 3 = -4x + 8 ;
y = -4x + 11.

If h(x) = 4x – 3 and p(x) = x2 – 3x, find p(-3)<br><br> 18<br> 0<br> -3
navik [9.2K]

Answer: p(-3)=18

Step-by-step explanation:

To find p(-3), you plug -3 into p(x) and solve.

p(-3)=(-3)²-3(-3)               [exponent]

p(-3)=9-3(-3)                    [multiply]

p(-3)=9+9                         [add]

p(-3)=18

Now we found that p(-3)=18.

How do i find the area between the two curves
viktelen [127]
A=22/10

A=integral(a,b) [f(x)-g(x)]dx

Since the function is even (the function is mirrored over the y axis) we can evaluate the integral from 0 to 1 and then multiply our answer by 2 since we have the same area on each side of the y axis.

We get A=2*int.(0, 1)[(x^2)-(-2x^4)]dx

Now we can integrate by term.

2*[int.(0, 1)[x^2]dx+int(0, 1)[2x^4]dx]

Now factor out constants.

2*[int(0,1)[x^2]dx+2int(0,1)[x^4]dx]

Now integrate.

2*[(x^3/3)|(0,1) + 2*(x^5/5)|(0,1)]

Now solve.

2*[(1/3)+2*(1/5)]

=22/10

Hope you can decipher what I wrote!

What is the change in temperature from 15 degrees to -9 degrees? -6, 6, -24, 25
dalvyx [7]

Answer:

24 degrees

Step-by-step explanation:

The distance from 15 degrees to 0 degrees is 15, and the distance from 0 degrees to -9 degrees is 9, so then the total distance from 15 degrees to -9 degrees is (15+9 degrees) which adds up to be 24 degrees

Find all possible values of the digits Y, E, A, R if YYYY - EEE + AA - R = 1234, and different letters represent different digit
schepotkina [342]

Answer:

Y:  2

E:  9

A:  1

R:  0

Step-by-step explanation:

If we used the value  Y = 2,   E = 9  , A = 1  and R = 0

in the given equation i.e

YYYY - EEE + AA - R = 1234.

From LHS,

Putting the value of Y,E, A and R in the given question we get

2222-999+11-0\\=\ 1223\ + 11\\=\ 1234

=RHS

Therefore\  the\  value\  of \   Y, E, A, R\  is\  2\ , \  9 , \ 1\   and\  0
