(x)(x+2) = 255
x² + 2x - 255 = 0
x² -15x + 17x - 255 = 0
x(x-15) 17(x-15) = 0
(x+17)(x-15) = 0
x = -17 Or x = 15

-17 is rejected 'cause it is negative. So, one number of 15,
other 15 +2 = 17

In short, Your Numbers are 15 & 17

Hope this helps!

Find the coordinates of the midpoint of a segment with the given endpoints. A(-12,2), C(-3,5)
DIA [1.3K]

The coordinates of the midpoint of a segment with the given endpoints will be (-7.5, 3.5).

<h3>What is the mid-point of the line segment?</h3>

Let AB be the line segment and C be the mid-point of line segment AB. Let the coordinate of point A (x₁, y₁), the coordinate of point B (x₂, y₂), and the coordinate of the mid-point (x, y).

Then the coordinate of the mid-point of the line segment is given as,

(x, y) = [(x₁ + x₂) / 2, (y₁ + y₂) / 2]

The endpoints are A(-12, 2) and C(-3,5).

Then the coordinates of the midpoint of a segment with the given endpoints will be

(x, y) = [(- 12 - 3) / 2, (2 + 5) / 2]

(x, y) = (-15/2, 7/2)

(x, y) = (-7.5, 3.5)

The coordinates of the midpoint of a segment with the given endpoints will be (-7.5, 3.5).

More about the mid-point of the line segment link is given below.

Solve for a: 2b=2cd+ad^2
Pepsi [2]

Answer:

a = \frac{2b - 2cd}{d^2}

Step-by-step explanation:

Step 1: Write out equation

2b = 2cd + ad²

Step 2: Subtract 2cd on both sides

2b - 2cd = ad²

Step 3: Divide both sides by d²

a = \frac{2b - 2cd}{d^2}

Find all real numbers $s$ such that $-2(s - 7) &gt; 4s + 8$. Give your answer in interval notation.
Stolb23 [73]

Answer:

s\in (-\infty,1)

Step-by-step explanation:

Solve the inequality -2(s - 7) > 4s + 8

Use distributive property:

-2s+14>4s+8

Subtract 4s:

-2s+14-4s>4s+8-4s\\ \\-6s+14>8

Subtract 14:

-6s+14-14>8-14\\ \\-6s>-6

Divide by -6 (do not forget to change sign, because division by negative number changes the sign):

s
