An ionic bond is composed of a cation and anion, which are charged ions. You cannot have atoms with ionic bonds, because there is no opposite attraction between charges due to atoms having a net nuclear charge of zero. Therefore, a cation and anion would most likely be joined by an ionic bond.

A 2.4 L balloon holds 3.7 mol He. If 1.6 mol He are added to the balloon, what is the new volume?
Elanso [62]
For this question, lets apply Avagadro's law
when Pressure and temperature are constant, the volume occupied is directly proportional to the number of moles of gases.
\frac{V}{n} = k
where V-volume, n-number of moles and k - constant
Therefore at 2 instances
\frac{V1}{n1} =  \frac{V2}{n2}
where V1 and n1 are for 1st instance
and V2 and n2 are for 2nd instance
therefore
\frac{V1}{n1} = \frac{V2}{n2}
V1 = 2.4 L
n1 = 3.7 mol
n2 = 3.7 + 1.6 = 5.3 mol
since more He moles are added at the 2nd instance its the sum of the moles.
V2 needs to be calculated \frac{2.4}{3.7}  = \frac{V2}{5.3}
V2 = 2.4 x 5.3 / 3.7
     = 3.4 L
Answer is 1st option 3.4 L

A sulfuric acid solution containing 571.3 g of h2so4 per liter of aqueous solution has a density of 1.329 g/cm3. Part a calculat
loris [4]

Mass percentage of a solution is the amount of solute present in 100 g of the solution.

Given data:

Mass of solute H2SO4 = 571.3 g

Volume of the solution = 1 lit = 1000 ml

Density of solution = 1.329 g/cm3 = 1.329 g/ml

Calculations:

Mass of the given volume of solution = 1.329 g * 1000 ml/1 ml = 1329 g

Therefore we have:

571.3 g of H2SO4 in 1329 g of the solution

Hence, the amount of H2SO4 in 100 g of solution= 571.3 *100/1329 = 42.987

Mass percentage of H2SO4 (%w/w) is 42.99 %
