Briefly summarize how the pulleys worked with respect to changes in effort force and effort distance compared with resistance fo

rce and resistance distance. What are the advantages of using pulleys? What do you think would happen to the mechanical advantage if you added a third movable pulley?

It helps applying force in any direction. Pulley systems rely on the relationship between the load and the effort. It also increase the lifting distance. Useful for getting the drive action to happen in awkward places. The  bigger the mechanical advantage the lesser amount of force is needed to be exerted.

A ball is thrown upward from a height of 432 feet above the ground, with an initial velocity of 96 feet per second. From physic
e-lub [12.9K]

Answer;

A)S(t)=96t-16t² +432

B)it will take 9 seconds for the ball to reach the ground.

C)864feet

Explanation:

We were given an initial height of 432 feet.

And v(t)= 96-32t

A) we are to Find s(t), the function giving the height of the ball at time t

The position, or heigth, is the integrative of the velocity. So

S(t)= ∫(96-32)dt

S(t)=96t-16t² +K

S(t)=96t-16t² +432

In which the constant of integration K is the initial height, so K= 432

b) we need to know how long will the ball take to reach the ground

This is t when S(t)= 0

S(t)=96t-16t² +432

-16t² +96t +432=0

This is quadratic equation, if you solve using factorization method we have

t= -3 or t= 9

Therefore, , t is the instant of time and it must be a positive value.

So it will take 9 seconds for the ball to reach the ground.

C)V=s/t

Velocity= distance/ time

=96=s/9sec

S=96×9

=864feet

Why is it important to have a balanced centrifuge?
ratelena [41]

It is important to properly balance a centrifuge because an unbalanced machine can damage the rotor, cause catastrophic damage to the machine itself, or even injure or kill lab personnel working in the room. Balancing a centrifuge involves spreading the weight of the samples across the entire rotor.

Answer : The de-Broglie wavelength of this electron, 0.101\AA

Explanation :

The formula used for kinetic energy is,

K.E=\frac{1}{2}mv^2        ..........(1)

According to de-Broglie, the expression for wavelength is,

\lambda=\frac{h}{mv}

or,

v=\frac{h}{m\lambda}      ...........(2)

Now put the equation (2) in equation (1), we get:

\lambda=\frac{h}{\sqrt{2\times m\times K.E}}  ...........(3)

where,

\lambda = wavelength = ?

h = Planck's constant = 6.626\times 10^{-34}Js

m = mass of electron = 9.11\times 10^{-31}Kg

K.E = kinetic energy = 4.71\times 10^{-15}J

Now put all the given values in the above formula (3), we get:

\lambda=\frac{6.626\times 10^{-34}Js}{\sqrt{2\times 9.11\times 10^{-31}Kg\times 4.71\times 10^{-15}J}}

\lambda=1.0115\times 10^{-11}m=0.101\AA

conversion used : (1\AA=10^{-10}m)

Therefore, the de-Broglie wavelength of this electron, 0.101\AA

Briefly explain the factors that affect the center of gravity.
goldfiish [28.3K]

Answer:

:)

Explanation:

The strength of the gravitational force between two objects depends on two factors, mass and distance. the force of gravity the masses exert on each other. If one of the masses is doubled, the force of gravity between the objects is doubled. increases, the force of gravity decreases.
