Briefly summarize how the pulleys worked with respect to changes in effort force and effort distance compared with resistance fo

rce and resistance distance. What are the advantages of using pulleys? What do you think would happen to the mechanical advantage if you added a third movable pulley?

It helps applying force in any direction. Pulley systems rely on the relationship between the load and the effort. It also increase the lifting distance. Useful for getting the drive action to happen in awkward places. The  bigger the mechanical advantage the lesser amount of force is needed to be exerted.

A mass attached to a 50.0 cm long string starts from rest and is rotated 40 times in one minute before reaching a final angular
ch4aika [34]

To solve this problem it is only necessary to apply the kinematic equations of angular motion description, for this purpose we know by definition that,

\theta = \frac{1}{2}\alpha t^2 +\omega_0 t + \theta_0

Where,

\theta = Angular Displacement

\alpha =Angular Acceleration

\omega_0 = Angular velocity

\theta_0 =Initial angular displacement

For this case we have neither angular velocity nor initial angular displacement, then

\theta = \frac{1}{2}\alpha t^2

Re-arrange for \alpha,

\alpha = \frac{2\theta}{t^2}

Replacing our values,

\alpha = \frac{2(40rev*\frac{2\pi rad}{1rev})}{60^2}

\alpha = 0.139rad/s

Therefore the ANgular acceleration of the mass is 0.139rad/s^2

A ball is thrown straight down with a speed of Va2.00 from a building 40.00 meters high. How much S time passes before the ball
-Dominant- [34]

Answer:

Option C is the correct answer.

Explanation:

Considering vertical motion of ball:-

Initial velocity, u =  2 m/s

Acceleration , a = 9.81 m/s²

Displacement, s = 40 m

We have equation of motion s= ut + 0.5 at²

Substituting

   s= ut + 0.5 at²

    40 = 2 x t + 0.5 x 9.81 x t²

   4.9t²  + 2t - 40 = 0

   t = 2.66 s   or t = -3.06 s

So, time is 2.66 s.

Option C is the correct answer.

The idea that earth was the center of the universe is an example of ---that has been long dicarded
Leni [432]

Answer:

Geocentric model of the universe

Explanation:

In the geocentric model of the universe, the earth is the center of the universe. This theory was later replaced by the heliocentric model which places the sun as the center.

This belief was propagated by the ancient Greeks. The geocentric model of the universe was proposed by Ptolemy.

The model suggests that other planetary bodies orbits the earth.
