P(leftmost lamp = red) = ½  

Leftmost must be red (1/2) and so must the leftmost lit lamp(2/5)

 

(1/2)(1/2) + (1/2)(1/2)(2/5) = 7/20  :)

Well. U have 6 lamps and we r turning in 3 and the probability of 1 being red is 16.666% u would do 1/6 as a percentage because I are only trying to find if that one is red. Hope this helps! ☺️

First isolate the variables onto one side and the numbers on the other so subtract 4x from both sides of the equation and add 14 to both sides of the equation to get 14=2x then you are going to want to completely isolate the variable so you divide 2 on both sides to get an answer of X=7
