Answer: Protozoa contaminate the water supply.

Some protozoa are parasites and cause diseases like malaria.

Protozoa have an important role in the food chain.

Protozoa are parasitic or free living single celled eukaryotic organisms. They are mostly found in water bodies.

Protozoa contaminate the water supply: Some of the protozoan species which are released from the human feces usually contaminate thee water, and causes waterborne infections in humans. Examples are Cryptosporium and Giardia. The infection occurs through drinking water or swallowing water from swimming pool.

Some protozoa are parasites and cause diseases like malaria: The Plasmodium is the genus belonging to the protozoan parasites. This malarial parasite is transmitted by female Anopheles mosquitoes to humans. The parasite multiply in the red blood cells causes symptoms like fever, anemia, flue, illness and may also cause coma and death.

Protozoa have an important role in the food chain: The protozoa species plays many roles in the food chain, they act as consumers, predators or prey, herbivores and decomposers. Their main function is to control the population of other species in the same habitat. They engulf small single celled bacteria, hence prevents excessive bacterial colonization act as predator. They also feed upon the algal species therefore, act as herbivores. They act as decomposers, as they feed upon the organic matter present in the bottom of the aquatic water body. They are the source of food for large worm and insect species.

A __________ is an example of a signal molecule that can bind to an intracellular receptor and thereby cause a gene to be turned
VikaD [51]

Answer:

D. steroid

Explanation:

Intracellular receptors are a type of receptors located inside the cell, specifically in the cytoplasm or nucleus. When intracellular receptors are activated by ligands called SIGNALLING MOLECULES, they change shape and regulate genetic expression in the nucleus i.e. they induce turning on and off in a gene.

However, signalling molecules that activate intracellular receptors are usually hydrophobic hormones because they need to easily diffuse through the cell membrane and bind to the receptors located internally. Example of these hydrophobic signal molecules are STEROIDS.

2) Fur length in the fuzzy wuzzy can be short, long or short-long. Short-long is marked by a pattern of alternating short and lo
m_a_m_a [10]

Answer:

This is an example of co-dominance

Explanation:

Although there isn't a question here, from looking online, I think I found the question which is

What is the inheritance?

  1. Incomplete dominance
  2. co-dominance
  3. complete dominance

Co dominance occurs when two alleles of a given trait are expressed equally. The clue we are given here that points us towards this is "Short-long is marked by a pattern of alternating short and long strands of fur over the surface of the fuzzy wuzzy."

This means both traits are expressed, giving an alternative phenotype of short long. Incomplete dominance might instead produce medium length fur.

Lets call the alleles L for long and l for short.

  • LL would be long
  • ll would be short
  • Ll would then be short-long.

We are told that Two long fuzzy wuzzies mate and produce all long fuzzy wuzzies. That is because LL x LL would produce all LL offpsring.

We are also told that two short fuzzy wuzzies mate and produce all short fuzzy wuzzies. That is because ll x ll would produce all ll offspring.

Two short-longs mate and produce some shorts, some longs and some short-longs. That is because Ll x Ll can produce LL, ll, and Ll.

d. Cultural anthropology

2. The field of anthropology (other than the one indicated above) which is most related to this research is:

a. Biological Anthropology

3. The way this research might contribute to a comparative anthropological approach is:

a. This research could be used to compare soybean consumption in other parts of the world.

Explanation:

Cultural anthropology studies the interaction between human beings and their surrounding social ideas, behaviors, and physical environments.  Biological anthropology studies the physical, biological, and behavioral aspects of human beings and other primates.  These two are part of the four fields of Anthropology.  Others include archaeological and linguistic anthropologies.
