R^2+2r-33=0  move constant to other side by adding 33 to both sides

r^2+2r=33   halve the linear coefficient, square it and add to both sides, in this case it is just one

r^2+2r+1=34  now the left side is a perfect square...

(r+1)^2=34  take the square root of both sides...

r+1=34^(1/2)  subtract 1 from both sides

r=-1+34^(1/2) and -1-34^(1/2)

Answer:

160 dollars

Step-by-step explanation:

So you would add 6.19 and 9.81 together. Then divide it by 2.  You would get 8. Then multiply it by 20 and you would get 160 dollars

Need help with these two questions.
Aleonysh [2.5K]

Circumference varies directly with radius means:

\frac{C}{r} = k

\frac{9.42}{1.5} = k

6.28 = k

So, the new equation is:

\frac{C}{r} = 6.28

\frac{C}{9} = 6.28

(9)\frac{C}{9} = (9)6.28

C = 56.52

****************************************

paycheck varies directly with hours means:

\frac{P}{h} = k

\frac{52.50}{6} = k

8.75 = k

So, the new equation is:

\frac{P}{h} = 8.75

\frac{P}{11} = 8.75

(11)\frac{P}{11} = (11)8.75

P = $96.25

your bedroom is in the shape of a square that is 14 feet long on each side. will a circular rug with a circumference of 50.24 fe
denpristay [2]

Answer:

The rug is two feet too wide

Step-by-step explanation:

Well first, let's figure out the diameter of the rug to see if it will fit in the room.  We know that the circumference of the circle is πd. So we can solve for d from there (d is the diameter).

c = πd

50.24 = πd

50.24/π = d

d = about 16 ft

Knowing this, we know that the rug would not fit in the room and if it was centered, it would have a foot of rug sticking out from each wall. Therefore, the rug is two feet too wide.

If CB is a perpendicular bisector, find the length of AB. Look at image ! please help me out !!
Anarel [89]

Answer:

52 units

Step-by-step explanation:

We know that,

<em>A perpendicular bisector cuts a line segment into two equal parts at 90°.</em>

As, CB is a perpendicular bisector of AD. So, it cuts AD into 2 equal parts.

We have,

AB = DB

i.e. 7x + 10 = 9x - 2

i.e. 7x - 9x = -2 - 10

i.e. -2x = -12

i.e. x = 6.

Thus, AB = 7x + 10 = 7×6 + 10 = 42  + 10 = 52.

Hence, the length of AB is 52 units.
