If (x + 5) represents the side of a cube, what is the<br> polynomial that represents its volume?
borishaifa [10]
The volume of a Cube/Rectangular Prism is Length times Width times Height, (or for short L*w*h).

For a cube, the length, width, and height are equal. So the volume of a cube is L*L*L

In the question it says that the you know the length of one of the cubes sides, which is (x + 5).

So L = (x + 5).

So, the unsimplified expression is:
L * L * L
= (x + 5) (x + 5) (x + 5)
= (x^2 + 10x + 25)(x + 5)
= x^3 + 10x^2 + 25x + 5x^2 + 50x + 125
= x^3 + 15x^2 + 75x + 125

A cube has a surface area of 900 cm what is the number of cubic cm in the volume of the cube
Anna [14]
SA = 900cm^2
SA = 6×(s^2), where "s" is one side or edge of each square surface face
900 = 6s^2
150 = s^2
\sqrt{150}  =  \sqrt{ {s}^{2} }
\sqrt{25}  \times  \sqrt{6}  = s
5 \sqrt{6}  = s
So each side is
5 \sqrt{6}  \: cm \: long
The volume (V) of a cube is:
v =  {s}^{3}  =  (5\sqrt{6})^{3} =  {12.247}^{3}  \\ = 1837 \:  {cm}^{2}

Zoe found a sweatshirt that she wanted at jcpenny when she went shopping the other day. it was 30% off. what was the original co
oksian1 [2.3K]

The sale price was 30% off the original price, which means it was on sale for 70% of the original cost ( 100% - 30% = 70%)

To find the original cost, divide the sale price by the percent of the original cost:

21 / 0.70 = 30

The original price was $30

check:

30 x 0.3 = 9 ( amount of discount)

30 - 9 = 21 ( sale price)
