C. Energy is released by the reaction

Explanation:-

An exothermic reaction is one in which during the progress of the reaction heat is evolved.

So energy is released by the reaction.

It cannot be created as energy is neither created nor destroyed as per the Law of conservation of energy. Energy is not transferred either.

The energy released during the progress of the reaction originates from the chemical bonds of the reactants as they break during their conversion into products.

The reaction, 2C4H10 (g) + 13O2 (g) à 8CO2 (g) + 5H2O (g), is the combustion of butane. What occurs as the reaction proceeds?
Solnce55 [7]
The reaction, 2 C4H10 (g) + 13 O2 (g) = 8 CO2 (g) + 5 H2O (g), is the combustion of butane. A combustion reaction involves the reaction of a hydrocarbon with oxygen producing carbon dioxide and water. This reaction is exothermic which means it releases energy in the form of heat. Therefore, as the reaction proceeds,a heat energy is being given off by the reaction. This happens because the total kinetic energy of the reactants is greater than the total kinetic energy of the products. So, the excess energy should be given off somewhere which in this case is released as heat.

HELP !
85g of NiCl2 dissolves in 350ml of H2O. What is the Molarity? Show your work
trapecia [35]

Answer:

1.874 M.

Explanation:

Molarity is defined as the no. of moles of a solute per 1.0 L of the solution.

M = (no. of moles of solute)/(V of the solution (L)).

∴ M = (mass/molar mass)of NiCl₂/(V of the solution (L)).

∴ M = (mass/molar mass)of NiCl₂/(V of the solution (L)) = (85.0 g / 129.59 g/mol)/(0.35 L) = 1.874 M.

✞Why is propane stored in household tanks but natural gas is not?♡♡♡
Klio2033 [76]

Answer:

In order to keep propane a liquid at room temperature (70° F or 21° C), it has to be held in a tank at a pressure of about 850 kPa. ... Household metal tanks cannot withstand this pressure. In short, natural gas is not stored in household tanks because the symmetry of its molecule makes it hard to liquify.
