1. Water is capable of dissolving a variety of different substances, which is why it is such a good solvent. And, water is called the "universal solvent" because it dissolves more substances than any other liquid. ... This allows the water molecule to become attracted to many other different types of molecules.

2. In chemistry, polarity is a separation of electric charge leading to a molecule or its chemical groups having an electric dipole moment, with a negatively charged end and a positively charged end. Polar molecules must contain polar bonds due to a difference in electronegativity between the bonded atoms.

3. The unequal sharing of electrons gives the water molecule a slight negative charge near its oxygen atom and a slight positive charge near its hydrogen atoms. When a neutralmolecule has a positive area at one end and a negative area at the other, it is a polar molecule.

Please try to put this in your own words because I gathered this from a website, and dont want you to get in trouble for plagiarism.

What strategies do cells use to ensure that newly replicated DNA does not contain errors? DNA polymerase replaces the newly repl
jarptica [38.1K]

Answer:

Enzymes proofread the DNA after the DNA has been replicated and replace any mismatched nucleotides.

Explanation:

DNA replication occurs to make exact copy of original DNA. Transcription of genetic information to an intermediate mRNA occur after replication after which we have translation of genetic information into amino acids.

In the process of replicating DNA error can occur and then enzymes proofread the work for errors. Enymes DNA polymerase proofs read the replication, removes and replace the nucleotide base from where error occurs. It proof read after the DNA replication has occured.

This enzyme is also involve in DNA replication.

Why is it important for a cell to perform checks after DNA replication?
kifflom [539]

I hope it's an open question, since I can not find the statements.

The monitoring mechanisms are in addition to the regulation of the succession of the four phases of the cycle by the Cdk. They allow the monitoring of fundamental aspects such as the state of the DNA molecules before, during and after their replication (DDCP = DNA Damage Checkpoint), the total completion of the replication before the entry into mitosis (RCP = Replication Checkpoint ) and the correct positioning of all chromosomes on the metaphase plate before sister chromatid separation (MPC = Mitotic Checkpoint).

Disruption of the cell cycle leads either to cell death because the cell can no longer continue its cycle, in the worst case to anarchic proliferation. The major interest of the study of the regulation of the cell cycle and its points of surveillance lies in the fact that these processes are often unregulated in cancers. Knowing the regulation of the cell cycle is therefore fundamental for oncology and can be used to develop new therapeutic approaches.
