Body image refers to a mental picture of how you look. Often women have troubles with their body image, particularly in teens. Diseases associated with a perceived distortion of body image are called Anorexia Nervosa and Bulimia. This is when an individual chooses to deprive himself/herself of food for days causing the body to slowly deteriorate and shut down. Many organ failures are associated with these types of psychological disorders. It can only be treated through psychosis so that an individual will have a better perception of himself/herself.
