Answer:

x=25

Step-by-step explanation:

5x+15=6x−10

Step 1: Subtract 6x from both sides.

5x+15−6x=6x−10−6x

−x+15=−10

Step 2: Subtract 15 from both sides.

−x+15−15=−10−15

−x=−25

Step 3: Divide both sides by -1.

−x −1 = −25 −1

X=25

The magnitude of a ra representation of a number as the product of a number that is greater than or equal to 1 but less than
kirill [66]

Answer:

<h3>C. Scientific Notation</h3>

Step-by-step explanation:

Since the number in question is greater than or equal to 1 but less than

10, we can choose any number between 1 and 10, lets take 3 for example.

If we take the product of 3 and an integer power of 10 number without regard to its sign, this can be expressed mathematically as shown;

3 * 10^{-5} where the power of 10 is -5. Note that any  real number can be used as the power since we are not regarding the sign (Here we used -5). The expression formed according to the expression in question is a SCIENTIFIC NOTATION i.e 3 * 10^{-5} gives us a scientific notation.

<em>Scientific notation is a means by which we represent very large or small numbers that are difficult to represent using a decimal notation</em>

HELP. How long is the minor axis for the ellipse shown below?
kifflom [539]

Given:

The equation of ellipse is

\dfrac{(x+4)^2}{25}+\dfrac{(y-1)^2}{16}=1

To find:

The length of the minor axis.

Solution:

The standard form of an ellipse is

\dfrac{(x-h)^2}{a^2}+\dfrac{(y-k)^2}{b^2}=1      ...(i)

where, (h,k) is center, if a>b, then 2a is length of major axis and 2b is length of minor axis.

We have,

\dfrac{(x+4)^2}{25}+\dfrac{(y-1)^2}{16}=1      ...(ii)

On comparing (i) and (ii), we get

b^2=16

Taking square root on both sides.

b=\pm 4

Consider only positive value of b because length cannot be negative.

b=4

Now,

Length of minor axis = 2b

                                  = 2(4)

                                  = 8

So, the length of minor axis is 8 units.

Therefore, the correct option is B.
