Answer:

g(x)

Step-by-step explanation:

The vertex of g(x) as shwon in the graph is located in the point wich coordinates are (3.5,6.25) approximatively

We need to khow the coordinates of f(x) vertex

  • Here is a way without derivating:

f(x) = -x² + 4x -5

let a be the leading factor, b the factor of x and c the constant:

  • a= -1
  • b= 4
  • c= -5

The coordinates of a vertex are: (\frac{-b}{2a} , f(\frac{-b}{2a}) )

-b/2a = -4/ (-1*2) = 4/2 = 2

f(2)= -2²+4*2-4 = -4+4-4 = -4

obviosly f(x) has a minimum wich less than g(x)'s maximum

Caroline, Colin & Sarah share some money. Caroline gets 1 /9 of the money. Colin and Sarah share the rest in the ratio 1:3.
laiz [17]

Answer:

Colin gets  \frac{2}{9} of the total money

Step-by-step explanation:

If we let the total amount be "90" (or any multiple of 9), then the solution gets much easy.

Let total money be 90.

Caroline gets 1/9, so that is:

1/9 * 90 = 10

Remaining is 90 - 10 = 80

This 80 is divided in the ratio 1:3, that means Colin gets 1 part and Sarah gets 3 part. That is 1 + 3 = 4 parts altogether.

80 divided in 4 parts is 80/4 = 20 each part.

Colin gets 1 part, that is 1 * 20 = 20

Colin gets 20 OUT OF 90 (total initial).

<em>What proportion is that? We simply divide and reduce!!</em>

<em />

20/90 = 2/9

Colin gets  \frac{2}{9} of the total money

6. Which of the following values are the zeroes of the expression 2x(x - 5)(x+7)?
Varvara68 [4.7K]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

To get the zeros of the expression 2x(x - 5)(x+7), we are going to equate the expression to zero and find the corresponding value of x as shown;

2x(x - 5)(x+7) = 0

2x = 0

x-5 = 0

x+7 = 0

From 2x = 0

x = 0/2

x = 0

From x-5 = 0

x = 0+5

x = 5

From the equation x+7 = 0

x = 0-7

x = -7

Hence the values of the zeros are {-7, 0, 5}
