Natali [406]
Okay so lets look at this.

So we have 5/5 girls.

2/5 of them are playing softball.  An equal number of girls signed up to play pitcher, infield, and outfield.  This means that each one is 1/3.

So out of 2/5 of the girls, there is 1/3 of the 2/5 that signed up to play outfield.

The answer can be solved with multiplication of fractions.

2/5 * 1/3 is 2/15.  So 2/15 of the girls in the school signed up to play outfield.

Answer: 2/15 or 0.133

Answer:

Answer:

9.46 = y

Step-by-step explanation:

=================================================================

You have to use the cosine function equation.

cos(38) =

Multiply 12 on both sides.

12cos(38) = y

Solve.

9.46 = y

How to know which one to use:

Sin, Cos, Tan, Sec, Cosec, and Cot

Sin function is to do opposite number side length over the hypotenuse number side

Cos function is to do adjacent (side length that is next to angle) over the hypotenuse

Tan function is to do Opposite over Adjacent,

These are the inverse of each one

Sec is hypotenuse over opposite (inverse of Sin)

Cosec is hypotenuse over adjacent (Inverse of Cos)

Cot is Adjacent over Opposite (Inverse of Tan)

If cot(theta)=1.5 and theta is in quadrant 3, what is the value of sin theta
____ [38]
The answer:
cot(theta)=1.5, to find theta, cot(theta)=1.5 implies theta= arc cot (1.5)

but we kknow that cot(theta) = 1 /  tan(theta), this implies

 1 /  tan(theta) =1.5, and  tan(theta) = 1 / 1.5 = 0.6

and theta is in quadrant 3,  costheta and sintheta are negatives

so  tan(theta) is positive,

tan(theta) = 0.6, therefore,  (theta) = arctan ( 0.6)= 30.9°

finally  (theta) =  30.9°
