Let's assume the three consecutive integers are x, x+1 and x+2.

So, sum of x, x+1 and x+2 can be written as x+x+1+x+2.

Twice the middle integer (x+1) will be 2*(x + 1).

Hence 3 more than 2(x+1) can be represent as 3 + 2(x+1).

Hence, we can set u the following equation as following:

x + x + 1 + x + 2 = 3 + 2(x + 1).

3x + 3 = 3 + 2x + 2

3x + 3 = 2x + 5 Combine the like terms.

3x + 3- 3 = 2x + 5 - 3 Subtract 3 from each sides.

3x = 2x + 2

3x - 2x = 2x + 2 - 2x Subtract 2x from each sides.

x = 2

So, the first integer is 2.

Second integer is 2+ 1 = 3 and

Third integer 2+2 = 4

So, the three consecutive integers are 2, 3 and 4.

Use the given information to find the P-value. Also, use a 0.05 significance level and state the conclusion about the null hypot
Nina [5.8K]

Answer: a. 0.1031; fail to reject the null hypothesis

Step-by-step explanation:

Given: Significance level : \alpha=0.05

The test statistic in a two-tailed test is z = -1.63.

The P-value for two-tailed test : 2P(Z>|z|)=2P(Z>|-1.63|)=0.1031 [By p-value table]

Since, 0.1031 > 0.05

i.e. p-value > \alpha

So, we fail to reject the null hypothesis. [When p<\alpha then we reject null hypothesis  ]

So, the correct option is a. 0.1031; fail to reject the null hypothesis.

IgorC [24]

Answer: 288, 576, 1152

Step-by-step explanation: What you do here is that you multiply every number by two. You start by doing 18 times 2, which equals 36. Then you do 36 times 2, which equals 72. You keep on doing this until you get the answers needed.

Hope this helped!! :)
