What are distracting mannerisms?

When we are talking or delivering a speech publicly we may make any body movements that may distract people from our message. They are more prevalent when we are nervous.

Examples of distracting mannerisms:

- Putting our hands in the pockets

- scratching out head or rolling our hair

- Pushing up your sleeves

-Touching a jewellery that we are wearing like a necklace

-Rocking back and forth

In order to prevent these distracting mannerisms we may practice prior to the speech in the mirror or Infront of our friends who can assist pick these up and help us eliminate them.

Using our voice expressively :

This means we need to maintain the volume of our voice as we deliver a speech we don't talk with a too low voice which may make our audience not hear us.

Depending on our audience number we must speak loud enough for our audience to hear us.

Maintain eye contact with the audience:

Audience are captured to what we deliver if we can look them in the eyes because they can even see our enthusiasm.
