a shipping company charges x dollars to ship a package that weighs up to 1 pound and an additional fee based on the additional w

Let the additional fee , the shipping company charges be $y .

So for 0.75 pounds, since the weight is less then 1 pound, company charge = $2x

For 3 packages with weigh 2.5 pounds, company charge 3* ( x+(2.5-1)*y )

= 3x+4.5y

For package with weighs 4.2 pounds, company charge x+(4.2-1)y = x+3.1y

So the total amount , company charge = 2x +3x +4.5y +x+3.1y

=6x +7.6y

Answer:

$22.5

Step-by-step explanation:

2.5% = .025

900 divided by 1.5 = 600

600 multiplied by .025 = 15

15 divided by .5 = 7.5

15 + 7.5 = 22.5

(a) Use the definition to find an expression for the area under the curve y = x3 from 0 to 1 as a limit. lim n→∞ n i = 1 Correct
Luba_88 [7]

Splitting up the interval of integration into n subintervals gives the partition

\left[0,\dfrac1n\right],\left[\dfrac1n,\dfrac2n\right],\ldots,\left[\dfrac{n-1}n,1\right]

Each subinterval has length \dfrac{1-0}n=\dfrac1n. The right endpoints of each subinterval follow the sequence

r_i=\dfrac in

with i=1,2,3,\ldots,n. Then the left-endpoint Riemann sum that approximates the definite integral is

\displaystyle\sum_{i=1}^n\frac{{r_i}^3}n

and taking the limit as n\to\infty gives the area exactly. We have

\displaystyle\lim_{n\to\infty}\frac1n\sum_{i=1}^n\left(\frac in\right)^3=\lim_{n\to\infty}\frac{n^2(n+1)^2}{4n^3}=\boxed{\frac14}

<span>Volume of the Sphere V = 4/3pi x r^3 So when diameter d = 3 inches => r = 1.5 inches volume of the sphere = 4.188 x r^3 = 4.188 x 1.5^3 = 14.14 in So when diameter d = 8 inches => r = 4 inches volume of the sphere = 4.188 x r^3 = 4.188 x 4^3 = 268.03 in So when diameter d = 9 inches => r = 4.5 inches volume of the sphere = 4.188 x r^3 = 4.188 x 4.5^3 = 381.63 in value for option (a) is 3 x 14.14 = 42.42 inches value for option (b) is 268.03 inches value for option (c) is 381.63 / 2 = 190.815 inches So the correct option would be (b)</span>
