Elina [12.6K]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

First, you can plot this using a table. One side can be 'Women' and the other 'Men'. One the vertical side of it, write '1980', '1981', '1982', etc., for maybe fifteen years to be on the safe side. Then, your starting value is 6 million and 5.4 million, respectively.

Finally, start adding up, It will be, 6.14 million, 6.28 million, etc., and 5.4 million, 5.48 million, etc.

Once you're done, you can circle the year both were the same, and you can even plot this on a graph

A new surgery is successful 70% of the time , if the results of 8 such surgeries are randomly sampled, what is the probability t
il63 [147K]

Answer:

P (x>5) = 0.5324014=0.523

Step-by-step explanation:

Here success = p= 0.7 and failure = q= 1-p= 1-0.7 = 0.3

Number of surgeries= n= 8

Applying the binomial distribution

( p+q) ^n= nC x p^x . q^n-x

More than 5 means  6,7, and 8

( p+q) ^8= 8C 5 (0.7)^5 . (0.3)^3

                =56* 0.16807*0.027

                       = 0.254121

( p+q) ^8= 8C 6 (0.7)^6 . (0.3)^2

                =  28* 0.1177* 0.09

                    = 0.296604

( p+q) ^8= 8C 7 (0.7)^7 . (0.3)^1

                =  8* 0.0824* 0.3

                  = 0.19776

( p+q) ^8= 8C8 (0.7)^8 . (0.3)^0

                =  1* 0.05765* 1

                  =0.05765

Adding the above all probabilities  gives

P (x>5) = P (x=6) + P(x=7) + P(x=8)

               = 0.296604+0.19776+0.05765

                   = 0.5324014

Prove weather or not the pair of ratios are equivalent the ratios are 6:11 and 42:88
vesna_86 [32]
No they are not equivalent to one another because in order to get from 6to 42 you have to multiply by 7 but to get from 11to 88you have to multiply by 8 . In order for to ratio to equivalent they must have the same factors

- kobby is 5 years younger than Nana
Darina [25.2K]

Answer:

Kobby is 1 and Nana is 6

Step-by-step explanation:

lets mark Kobby's present age x, than Nana's present age would be x+5.

four years later Kobby's age would be x+4, and Nana's x+5+4, or 2(x+4).

so

x+5+4=2x+8

x-2x=8-5-4

-x=-1

x=1
