Pathogens usually enter our bodies through the eyes, mouth, nose, or urogenital openings, or through wounds or bites that breach the skin barrier. Organisms can spread, or be transmitted, by several routes.
Pathogens include viruses, bacteria, parasites and other substances or organisms that have a negative impact on health. Additionally, pathogens can be transmitted in multiple ways that include direct contact, airborne transmission, vector transmission, and even blood or fluids transmission. In the case of blood, this substance can transmit pathogens such as HIV or hepatitis if a healthy individual is in contact with infected blood because in this way the virus or pathogen would enter into the body of the healthy person and develop. This means it is false pathogens cannot be passed through blood because some pathogens are transmitted through blood and other fluids.
