Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

C_{(x)}=-0.00001x^{2}-0.02x+49

for x≤1400; N = 5

So, Δx = \frac{1400-0}{5} =280\\\\\int\limits^{1400}_0 {C(x)} \, dx=∑C(a + nΔx).Δx

=C(0)Δx + C(280)Δx + C(560)Δx + C(840)Δx + C(1120)Δx

= Δx[C(0) + C(280) + C(560) + C(840) + C(1120)]

= 280[49 + 42.616 + 34.664 + 25.144 + 14.056]

=280[165.48]

=46334 approx

Mr. Harrow has eight boys and six girls in his Honors Pre-calculus class. If he randomly chooses two students, one at a time, wh
Sergeu [11.5K]

Answer: 15/91 which is choice B

=================================================================

There are two methods to find this answer.

Method 1) We have 6 girls and 8+6 = 14 students. The probability of picking a girl is 6/14 = 3/7. After the first girl is chosen, we have 5 girls left out of 14-1 = 13 students overall. The probability of picking another girl (assuming the first selection was a girl) is 5/13. Multiply these probabilities: (3/7)*(5/13) = (3*5)/(7*13) = 15/91

--------------------

Method 2) We can use the nCr combination formula. Order does not matter.

We have nCr = 6 C 2 = 15 ways to pick 2 girls. See the attached image below for the steps (figure 1)

Out of nCr = 14 C 2 = 91 ways to pick 2 students. See the attached image below for the steps (figure 2)

So that's another way to get the answer 15/91.

There are  12 units in between. You have to remember the number line is in twos. So, when you count the units in between, you have to remember to count in twos. Another way to figure it out is you can count the number of lines above the numbers or plots and multiply times two to find how many units are in between. Again, multiplying it times two is necessary in this equation because it is in units of two.

So, there are 12 units in between.
I really hope this helps and I know how I worded it is kind of confusing, but hopefully you understand. If you have any question feel free to ask. Have an awesome day:)

The perimeter represents the amount of wood needed and the area represents the amount of class needed.

so 2*(2/3) +  2(2) = 4/3 + 4= 4 4/3 or 5 1/3 wood is needed for the border.

for the mirror, you will need the area= 4/3 * 2 = 8/3 sq yds or 2 2/3 sq yards is needed.
