X is 18

You need to algebraically move things around by adding/dividing on both sides (work shown in the picture).

Solve Equation:

3 ( 110 - 7x ) = x - 66

Simplify both sides:

3 ( 110 - 7x ) = x - 66

( 3 ) ( 110 ) + ( 3 ) ( - 7x ) = x + - 66

Distribute:

330 + -21x = x + - 66

- 21x + 330 = x - 66

Step 2: Subtract x both sides:

- 21x + 330 - x = x - 66 - x

- 22x + 330 = -66

Step3: Subtract 330 both sides:

- 22x + 330 - 330 = - 66 - 330

- 22x = - 396

Step 4: divide both sides by - 22:

- 22x / - 22 = - 396 / - 22

x = 18

Answer: 3 ( 110 - 7x ) = x - 66 =====> x = 18

Hope that helps!!!! : )

Solve the system by substitution.<br> y = 8x<br> y=10x – 4<br> Submit Answer<br> How
Goshia [24]

Answer:

(2,16)

Step-by-step explanation:

y=8x-----------(i)

y= 10x-4---------(ii)

Substituting the value of y=8x in equation (ii)

8x=10x-4

8x-10x=-4

-2x= -4

x=2

Now, substituting the value of x= 2 in equation (i)

y=8x=8(2)=16

Solution of the system is (2,16)

 The question is "What's Stella's opportunity cost of working on her serve for an hour?" The rest of the info looks like it's meant to confuse you. They charge $10 an hour. She values an hour of her time at $20. I believe that means she would pay $20. Hope this helps!

What is the probability that a group of five friends all have different birthdays? Show all of your work for full credit.
patriot [66]

Answer: 0.98630136986

Step-by-step explanation:

There are 365 possible birthdays. The key to assigning the probability is to think in terms of complements: “Two (or more) people share a birthday” is the complement of “All people in the group have different birthdays.” Each probability is 1 minus the other. What is the probability that any two people have different birthdays? The first person could have any birthday (p = 365÷365 = 1), and the second person could then have any of the other 364 birthdays (p = 364÷365). Multiply those two and you have about 0.9973 as the probability that any two people have different birthdays, or 1−0.9973 = 0.0027 as the probability that they have the same birthday. If you have a group of five, it would mean your equation would have to be (p=360÷365)

4x-11y=68 ; 6x+5y=-27 by elimination
zimovet [89]

Answer:

x=\frac{1}{2}\\\\y=-6

Step-by-step explanation:

Given the following system of equations:

\left \{ {{4x-11y=68} \atop {6x+5y=-27}} \right.

In order to solve the system of equations using the Elimination Method, you can follow these steps:

- Multiply the first equation by -6 and the secondd equation by 4.

- Add both equations.

- Solve for "y".

Then:

\left \{ {{-24x+66y=-408} \atop {24x+20y=-108}} \right\\.........................\\86y=300\\\\y=\frac{-516}{86}\\\\y=-6

- Substitute the value of "y" into one of the original equations and solve for "x":

6x+5(-6)=-27\\\\6x=-27+30\\\\x=\frac{3}{6}\\\\x=\frac{1}{2}
