Answer:

Tom can either take 24 kicks and make 16 goals or 30 kicks and make 20 goals.

Step-by-step explanation:

Andre made 4 goals out of 6 kicks.

Tom wants to take more than 20 kicks and to make an equivalent fraction to Andre.

Possibility 1:

Let Tom makes 24 kicks.

To get 24, we need to multiply the denominator of Andre's fraction by 4.

So, \frac{4}{6} =\frac{16}{24}

Therefore, Tom can take 24 kicks and make 16 goals.

Possibility 2:

Let Tom makes 30 kicks.

To get 30, we need to multiply the denominator of Andre's fraction by 5.

So, \frac{4}{6} =\frac{20}{30}

Therefore, Tom can take 30 kicks and make 20 goals.

Write an equivalent unit rate to eating chips in 1/4 mins
Anna11 [10]

Answer:

Here we have the case where:

"one chip is eaten in 1/4 mins."

(that means unit rate, the amount of a given variable that we need to do a unit of another variable)

Then the unit rate would be:

4 chips per minute.

Or, in a more mathematical way to write this:

4 chips/min.

Now we could write this in other units, for example.

We know that 1 min = 60s.

Then we have that (1/4) min = 60s/4 = 15s.

Then we have the unit rate:

1 chip every 15 seconds, or:

(1/15) chips/second.

Now, the variable in this case is time, t = time, let's multiply bot our unit rates by the same amount of time, and see if we have the same outcome.

Let's use t = 2 min.

1) (4chips/min)*2min = 8 chips.

2) ((1/15) chips/second)*2min

First, 2 min = 120 seconds.

((1/15) chips/second)*2min = ((1/15) chips/second)*120seconds = 8 chips.

So both unit rates are equivalent.

Pls help me with this page I used all of my points
Travka [436]

Alright so the first one involves in shading.

You can see that Jack and Renee have two bars with rectangles inside the bar.

Jack took 3/4 hours or in words, three out of four. So in Jack's bar, shade 3 boxes and leave one unshaded.

Renee took 2/3 or two out of three. Shade 2 boxes in Renee's bar and see the difference.

As you can see, Jack has more shade length than Renee and that could only mean one thing:

Jack took longer to fix the tire than Renee.

The symbol that represents this is 3/4 > 2/3

The second activity has the same case.

Water: 3/5 means that you have to shade three boxes and leave the other two unshaded.

Sports Drink: 4/6 means that you have to shade four boxes and leave the other two unshaded.

As you can see again, there is more sports drink than the water since the shade length is longer in the sports drink than on the water.

This meant that she poured in more sports drink than water.

The third activity is just as simple, you just need to visually make up your own sections. Do the shading then see which one is bigger then just input the sign (hint: the first one is < and the second one is >)

cheers

members of the wide waters club pay 105 dollars per summer season, plus 9.50 each time they rent a boat. Nonmembers must pay 14.
WITCHER [35]
When handling problems of this nature make sure you setup the equations.
x = number of times they rent a boat.

Members
Cost = 105 + 9.50x
Non members because members don't have to pay the 105 we leave it out.
Cost = 14.75x

so now to determin when cost would be equal we set the two equations = to each other

105 + 9.50x = 14.75x

now solve for x

105 = 5.25x

20 = x

so they would have to rent 20 times to equal each other.
