Answer:

Share of A is $116 and Share of B is $84.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the share of A be x

Let the share of B be y

Given:

$200 is shared between A and B

So, x+y =\$200\ \ \ \ equation \ 1

Also given;

twice of A's share is less than 3 times than B's share by $20

2x= 3y -20\\2x-3y = -20 \ \ \ \ equation \ 2

Solution:

Now multiplying equation 1 by 3 we get,

3x+3y=600 \ \ \ \ equation \ 3

Now Adding equation 2 and equation 3 we get

(2x-3y = -20)+ (3x+3y=600)\\5x=580\\\\x=\frac{580}{5}=\$116

Now Substituting the value of x in equation 1 we get,

x+y=200\\116+y=200\\y=200-116 = \$84

Hence, Share of A is $116 and Share of B is $84.

Roger served 5/8 pound of crackers, which was 2/3 of the entire box. what was the weight of the crackers originally in the box
ira [324]
5/8 = 2/3 the entire box

Half of 2/3 is 1/3, and 2/3 + 1/3 = 1

So find half of 5/8 and add it to 5/8.

5/8 * 1/2 = 5/16

5/8 + 5/16

Change 5/8 to a fraction with a denominator of 16:

10/16 + 5/16 = 15/16

So the original weight is 15/16 pounds.

you have,

that means, we'll need Mrs. tangent
thus

<h3>Ratio of length of red ribbon to blue ribbon is 9 : 8</h3>

<em><u>Solution:</u></em>

Given that,

Robin is making bows to sell at her mother's yard sale

From given,

\text{Length of red ribbon } = \frac{3}{4}\ foot\\\\\text{Length of blue ribbon } = \frac{2}{3}\ foot

<em><u>What is the ratio of the length of red ribbon to blue ribbon?</u></em>

Red : blue = \frac{3}{4} : \frac{2}{3}\\\\Red : blue = \frac{3 \times 3}{4 \times 3} : \frac{2 \times 4}{3 \times 4}\\\\Red : blue = \frac{9}{12} : \frac{8}{12}\\\\Red : blue = 9 : 8

Thus ratio of length of red ribbon to blue ribbon is 9 : 8
