Answer:

let the width be x inches

then the length would be 3x inches

perimeter of rectangle = p = 2(l+b)

100= 2(3x+x)

100= 2(4x)

100=8x

x=100/8

x=12.5 inches

thw width is 12.5 inches and length is 3*12.5=37.5 inches

What is the correct answer?
Nastasia [14]

Answer:

C)   (-3, -1)

Step-by-step explanation:

y = 5/3x + 4

  When x = 0, y = 4

  When y = 0, x = -2.4

  graph the points: (0, 4) and (-2.4, 0)

y = -2/3x - 3

  When x = 0, y = -3

  When y = 0, x = -4.5

  graph the points: (0, -3) and (-4.5, 0)

The lines will cross at point: (-3, -1)

Find the area of the following figure.

14.0 cm2
10.5 cm2
28.1cm2
17.6 cm2
Levart [38]
First option: 14.0 cm^2

Area of semicircle + area of triangle
1/2(pi)(r^2) + 1/2(b)(h)
1/2(3.14)(1.5^2) + 1/2(3)(7)
3.53+ 10.5
14.03 cm^2

Would each of them be able to be the side lengths of a triangle?
ratelena [41]
Pythagoras Theorem:
hipotenuse²=leg₁²+leg₂²

First posible triangle:
hypotenuse=13    (13²=169)
leg₁=12                ( 12²=144)
leg₂=5                  (5²=25)

13³=144 + 25

Answer:can be side lengths of a triangle

Second triangle:
hypotenuse=12.6    (12.6²=158.76)
leg₁=6.7                ( 6.7²=44.89)
leg₂=6.5                  (6.5²=42.25)

leg₁²+leg₂²=44.89+42.25=87.14≠158.76

Answer: cannot be side lenghts of a triangle.

third triangle:
hypotenuse=13    (13²=169)
leg₁=12                ( 12²=144)
leg₂=11                  (11²=121)

leg₁²+leg₂²=144+121=265≠169

Answer: cannot be side lenghts of a triangle.

fourth triangle:
hypotenuse=13   (13²=169)
leg₁=6                ( 6²=36)
leg₂=4                  (4²=16)

leg₁²+leg₁²=36+16=52≠169

Answer: cannot be side lenghts of a triangle.

a man spends 1/3 of his wages on food, 1/5 on rent. if he saved the rest what fraction of his wage did he save?
Lynna [10]
Total wages = 1
Food = 1/3
Rent = 1/5
Savings = total wages - food - rent
= 1 - 1/3 - 1/5
= 15/15 - 5/15 - 3/15
= 7/15
