What was an unexpected result of the British policy of salutary neglect toward the American colonies?
Firlakuza [10]

This gave the result of the Americans knowing what independence was like, and the end of salutary neglect and implementation of a range of other laws were a major factor in causing the American Revolution.</span>

What did Jefferson hope would happen by cutting of trade with England and the rest of the world?
alexandr402 [8]

The Embargo Act of 1807 was a law passed by the United State Congress and signed by President Thomas Jefferson on December 22, 1807.

It prohibited American ships from trading in all foreign ports. In 1806, France passed a law that prohibited trade between neutral parties, like the U.S., and Britain. Agricultural prices and earnings fell. Shipping-related industries were devastated. Nothing much out of that, eh?

Hope this helps, and you'd get it right. x
