Bebop, Inc. is planning a project that requires purchasing some new, highly-efficient CD-burning equipment for $150,000. The fre

ight will be $12,000, and Bebop will spend an additional $4,000 to have the equipment installed. At the end of the equipment’s 10-year life, it will be scrapped at an after-tax cost of $2,000. (In other words, the company must spend $2,000 to haul the equipment to the junkyard.) Bebop expects that they will create new CDs at a much faster rate than they currently do, so their inventory of blank CDs will rise by $28,000. They also expect their Accounts Payable to rise by $22,000.
a) What is Bebop’s total initial investment for this project? When will it occur?
b) What is the annual depreciation expense?
c) What is the terminal cash flow for this project? When will it occur?

Answer:

a.$166,000.

b.$15,000.

c. $2,000

Explanation:

a) The total initial investment on the project is the sum of the cost of the equipment ($150,000), freight charges ($12,000) and the equipment installation cost ($4,000). Therefore, the total initial investment of the project is $166,000.

b) The annual depreciation expense using straight line depreciation would be $15,000.

c)The terminal cash flow of this investment would be the scrap value of the machine, which is $2,000. This cash flow would occur at the end of the useful life of the machine, that is, after 10 years from the date of investment.

Discuss how either good or poor quality affects you personally as a customer. Give specific examples and describe an experience
lys-0071 [83]

Answer:

Quality is the perhaps the most desired thing in a good or service, however, sometimes, as customers, we have to compromise on quality for a cheaper price.

Personally, I look for quality when I buy a laptop. I have had four laptos in my life. Two of those laptops were HP, and the two other were Lenovo.

I had a good experience with my first HP laptop, so I bought another one years later. That second HP had many technical issues only a few months after the purchase, and a year later I ended up buyina new Lenovo laptop.

That first Lenovo lasted for over 4 years until I replaced it for a new one.

In this case, the lack of quality I have personally experienced with HP has made me ditch the brand altogether.

otez555 [7]

Answer:

No

Explanation:

Although the Fiscal policy includes the detail of government revenue collection and its spending and military budget is allocated in the budget as part of the policy, however after the incident of 9/11, the increase in military spending (including spending on wars in Iraq and Afghanistan) was designed to achieve homeland security objectives.

White House designated the Office of Homeland Security to oversee and coordinate a comprehensive national strategy to safeguard the country against terrorism and respond to any future attacks.

On January 1, 20X8, Polo Corporation acquired 75 percent of Stallion Company's voting common stock for $300,000. At the time of
polet [3.4K]

Answer:

Polo will report $318,750 as its investment in Stallion at December 31, 20X8

Explanation:

Common stock = $300,000 acquired at 75%

Net income = $40,000

Pay dividends = $10,000

Increase in value of Patent = $50,000

Economic Life = 10

Amortization = $5,000

Therefore, the $ 5000 would be reduced from the net income.

Investments in Polo = $300,000 + [0.75 × (40000 - 10000 - 5000)]

= $300,000+ 0.75(25,000)

= $300,000+ $18,750

= $318,750
