Scientists tested the effect of a fertilizer on the growth of plants. They had 2 sets of plants, Group A which gets fertilizer,

water and sun and Group B which gets only water and sun (but in equal amounts to Group A).
1. Explain how this scenario is a controlled experiment and identify the manipulated variable.

2. If the scientists only performed 1 experiment but it supported their hypothesis, why can it not be considered a theory?

3. The graph below was created showing the growth of the plant. How would you know that the y-axis is measuring the growth of the plant?

1. This scenario is controlled due to the fact that they usually test the effect of fertilizer, water and sunlight. Two last points pose as explanation for the second part of question.
2. It can not be considered a theory because often it is supported by hypothesis, so it's not direct thesis.
3. The way to know that the y-axis is measuring the growth of the plant is to look at the graph and see that it shows plant growing up.

How do sheet joints and exfoliation domes form in granite plutons?
fomenos
Sheet fractures are accurate fractures defining slabs of rock that range from 0.5 to 10 meters thick. They normally form in sets parallel to the Earth's surface but may form in convex-upward or concave-upward sets. The most popular hypothesis of the formation of sheet fractures is that they are the result of expansion and tangential fracturing consequent on erosion offloading or pressure release.

Why is there a pit, a hole, in me... that want's someone's love, and not just anyone's, but some specific person that I don't ev
iVinArrow [24]
Well everyone's needs for love and attention are different. It can depend on how you were raised, if you received a lot of attention as a kid, etc. Humans are social creatures so we already crave human interaction. and, going back to how you were raised, even if you were raised quite well and you got enough attention as a kid, it really depends on how people treated you and maybe how many times you've had your heart broken or something along those lines. That need honestly varies from person to person. But I know how it feels, you'll get through it, you'll be okay.
