There are two forces on the 2 kg box in the overhead view of the following figure, but only one is shown. For F1=20N, a= 12 m/s2

and θ= 30◦, find the second force (a) in unit-vector notation and as (b) a magnitude and (c) an angle relative to the positive direction of the x axis.

Answer:

second force = 32.784

Magnitude =\sqrt{32.784

θ = -90°

Explanation:

a)

Fnet = ma

F1 + F2 = ma

20N + F2 = 2(12 × cos30° + 12 ×sin30°)

F2 = 2 × 12 ( sin 30° + cos 30°)

    = 24 × ( 1 + √3 )÷ 2

  =12 (1 +√3 )

  = 32.784

b) \sqrt{12(1 +\sqrt{3}}

= \sqrt{12 ( 1+ 1.732)}

= \sqrt{12 (2.732)}

= \sqrt{32.784}

c)

θ = 30° + 180°

θ = 210°

210° - 300°

θ = -90°

When jumping straight down, you can be seriously injured if you land stiff-legged. One way to avoid injury is to bend your knees
nexus9112 [7]

(a) The man comes to a halt in 1.99 ms = 1.99 × 10⁻³ s, so his average acceleration slowing him from 6.33 m/s to a rest is

<em>a</em> = (6.33 m/s - 0) / (1.99 × 10⁻³ s) ≈ 3180 m/s²

so that the average net force on the man during the landing is

<em>F</em> = (70.8 kg) <em>a</em> ≈ 225,000 N

i.e. with magnitude 225,000 N.

(b) With knees bent, the man has an average acceleration of

<em>a</em> = (6.33 m/s - 0) / (0.147 s) ≈ 43.1 m/s²

and hence an average net force of

<em>F</em> = (70.8 kg) <em>a</em> ≈ 3050 N

(c) The net force on the man is

∑ <em>F</em> = <em>n</em> - <em>w</em> = <em>m a</em>

where

<em>n</em> = magnitude of the normal force, i.e. the force of the ground pushing up on the man

<em>w</em> = the man's weight, <em>m g</em> ≈ 694 N

<em>m</em> = the man's mass, 70.8 kg

<em>g</em> = mag. of the acceleration due to gravity, 9.80 m/s²

<em>a</em> = the man's acceleration

Using the acceleration in part (b), we have

<em>n</em> = <em>m g</em> + <em>m a</em> = <em>m</em> (<em>g</em> + <em>a</em>)

<em>n</em> = (70.8 kg) (9.80 m/s² + 43.1 m/s²) ≈ 3740 N

If Noah runs three laps around a 200 meter track in two minutes, what is the average speed of Noah in m/s?
devlian [24]
• 3 laps of 200 meter track = 600 meters
• 600 meters ran in 2 minutes
• 2 minutes = 120 seconds
• 600 meters / 120 seconds = 5 m/s on average

The complexity and variety of organic molecules is due to
Anastaziya [24]

Answer:

Due to the chemical versatility of carbon atoms

Explanation:

Carbon is a very important element and it is commonly found in many varieties of chemical compounds. They are also found to be present in space in various amount. It is often considered to be versatile because they are capable of forming single, double, as well as triple bonds. This enables them to make single and branched chains. They also form ring chains when combined with other atoms of carbon.

It is because of this versatility of carbon atoms, there forms complex variety of organic molecules.
