To train for a bike race, Sandi rode her bike a total of 16 miles each day. Brian was training for the same race, but only rode

his bike half as far as Sandi each day. After five days, how many more miles had Sandi ridden than Brian?

So the first thing you're gonna wanna know is how many miles Brian is riding per day so
16/2= 8

Then you'll want to do the following steps

16 × 5 = 80

8 × 5 = 40

80-40 = 40

Sandi rode 40 more miles then Brian in five days

Hope this helped!

What are the surface area and volume ratios of a cylinder change if the radius and height are multiplied by 5/4 ?
victus00 [196]

Answer:

The ratio of the surface areas and volume is 8((5y+5x) /25xy)

Step-by-step explanation:

This problem bothers on the mensuration of solid shapes.

Let us assume that the radius =x

Radius r=5x/4

And the height =y

Height h= 5y/4

We know that the total surface area of a cylinder is

A total = 2πrh+2πr²

We can factor out 2πr

A total = 2πr(h+r)

The volume of a cylinder is given as

v= πr²h

The surface area and volume ratios

Can be expressed as

2πr(h+r)/πr²h= 2(h+r)/rh

= (2h+2r)/rh= 2h/rh + 2r/rh

= 2/r + 2/h

= 2(1/r + 1/h)

Substituting our value of x and y

For radius and height we have

= 2(1/5x/4 + 1/5y/4)

=2(4/5x + 4/5y)

=2*4(1/5x + 1/5y)

= 8 (5y+5x/25xy)

Which expression correctly represents eight times the difference of 4 and a number
expeople1 [14]

Answer:

The expression for two times the difference of 4 and a number  is

8(4-d)

Step-by-step explanation:

To Find:

Write an expression for Eight times the difference of 4 and a number.

Solution:

Let the Unknown number be 'd'

Difference of 4 and d                        =      ( 4 - d )

So One Time Difference of 4 and d =  1× ( 4 - d )

∴   Two Times Difference of 4 and d = 2× ( 4 - d )

∴   Eight Times Difference of 4 and d = 8× ( 4 - d )

The expression for Eight times the difference of 4 and d. will be

8(4-d)

The expression for Eight times the difference of 4 and a number  is

8(4-d)
