Range is the value of y
f(x)=-x²+5
when x=-1, f(x)=-(-1)²+5=4
when x=2, f(x)=-(2)²+5=1
so 1<y≤4
the second piece: f(x)=2x-3
when x=2, f(x)=2(2)-3=1
when x=5, f(x)=2(5)-3=7
so 1≤y<7

union of the two parts of y: 1≤y<7
