C. 6/5 * 4

6/5 = 1.20 where .20 represents the 20% increase in serving.

1.20 * 4 = 4.8 is the total cups of flour needed to increase serving by 20%

4 is the 100% ; the desired increase is 20%; therefore: 100% + 20% = 120% based on 4 cups. So, 120% ÷ 100% = 1.2 * 4 = 4.80 cups

There are 5 red roses, 3 yellow roses, and 8 white roses in a tray. If Stephanie picked 2 roses one after the other without repl
Wewaii [24]
So probility is (disired outcomes) divided by (total possible outcomes) so

1st one is white roses
8 white roses so 8 is disired
total=5+3+8=16
8/16=1/2
then without replacing them
red=5
total possible=16-1 since 1 picked
5/15=1/3
then multiply the probatilities

1/2 times 1/3=1/6
it is a 1 in 6 probability

When a single card is drawn from an ordinary 52-card deck, find the probability of getting a 2 or a red card?
kipiarov [429]
Let R be the event that a red card is drawn. There are two red suits of 13 cards each, so there are 26 ways of getting are red card. There are 52 cards altogether, so the probability of getting a red card is P(R) = 26 52 = 1 2 .

What is x for negative 8(x plus 2 ) plus 5x equals negative 4
Anarel [89]
 - 8 ( x + 2 )  + 5x  = - 4

Start by distributing.....

- 8 x - 16 + 5x = - 4

Combine like terms.....

     - 3 x - 16 = - 4

Add 16 to both sides.....

         - 3x = 12

 Divide both sides by -3 to get x by its self.....

           x = - 4 is the answer
