1) A school has 1600 students and they are going to vote as to whether they will completely convert the school completely off fo
fredd [130]

Answer:

Standard deviation of the students = 0.408

The students would you have to poll to be 95% confident of the outcome within /- 2% of the vote

         = 0.408 X 1600

         = 652.8

Step-by-step explanation:

<u><em>Step(i):</em></u>-

Given sample size 'n' = 1600

95% confidence interval of the margin error is determined by

                      M.E = \frac{Z_{0.05} S.D}{\sqrt{n} }

Level of significance = 0.05

Z₀.₀₅ = 1.96

Given Margin of error = 2% = 0.02

       M.E = \frac{Z_{0.05} S.D}{\sqrt{n} }

       0.02 = \frac{1.96 X S.D}{\sqrt{1600} }

      0.02 X √1600 = 1.96 X S.D

       S.D = \frac{0.02X\sqrt{1600} }{1.96} = 0.408

Standard deviation of the students = 0.408

The students would you have to poll to be 95% confident of the outcome within /- 2% of the vote

         = 0.408 X 1600

         = 652.8

A birdbath is filled to the top. On Day 1, the volume of water in the bowl decreases by 7/8 cup. On Day 2, the volume in the bow
Romashka-Z-Leto [24]

Answer:

-1 5/8

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the total amount in the bowl be x;

If on Day 1, the volume of water in the bowl decreases by 7/8 cup, the remaining water will be;

x - 7/8

If on day 2, the volume in the bowl decreases by 3/4 cup, the remaining volume of water after the second day will be;

= x - 7/8 - 3/4

= x - (7-2(3))/8

= x - (7+6)/8

= x - 13/8

This shows that the total change after the two days is -13/8

As a mixed fraction;

-13/8 = -1 5/8

<h3>               d = 6</h3>

Step-by-step explanation:

a_1=-8\\a_2=-2\\a_3=4\\\\d=a_2-a_1=a_3-a_2=...=a_n-a_{n-1}\qquad\qquad \{n\ge2\}\\\\\left{\big{a_2-a_1=-2-(-8)=-2+8=6}\atop\big{a_3-a_2=4-(-2)=4+2=6\quad\ \,}\right\}\implies\ \ d=6

Need to use a the table given to find the rate of change in fruit flies per day over the given intervals. Not sure how to use th
Aleksandr [31]
Given a table, with an input (x) and output (y) , you could actually use the slope formula to get the rate of change because slope is the same thing as rate of change. If you recall, the slope formula is (y2-y1)÷(x2-x1)
Just pick two points from the chart and plug them in and that is your rate of change
