I'm not completely sure what you're asking, but if i understand right, it could be that if you add 5 and 3 you get 8, or if you subtract 3 from 8 you get 5.

Hope this helps in some way!

yulyashka [42]

Answer:The total amount of money that the school will spend for tickets is $9900

Step-by-step explanation:

Tickets to a baseball game are 20 dollars for an adult and 15 dollars for a student. A school bus tickets for 45 adults and 600 students. This means that the total amount spent by the school on adult tickets is 20 × 45 = $900

The total amount spent by the school on students tickets is 15 × 600 = $9000

The total amount of money that the school will spend for tickets will be the sum of the amount spent on adult tickets and student tickets. It becomes

900 + 9000 = $9900

In a group of a hundred and fifty students attending a youth workshop in mombasa, 125 of them are fluent in kiswahili, 135 in en
jek_recluse [69]

Answer:

The probability that a student chosen at random is fluent in English or Swahili.

P(S∪E) = 1.1

Step-by-step explanation:

<u><em>Step(i):</em></u>-

Given total number of students n(T) = 150

Given 125 of them are fluent in Swahili

Let 'S' be the event of fluent in  Swahili language

n(S) = 125

The probability that the fluent in  Swahili language

P(S) = \frac{n(S)}{n(T)} = \frac{125}{150} = 0.8333

Let 'E' be the event of fluent in English language

n(E) = 135

The probability that the fluent in  English language

P(E) = \frac{n(E)}{n(T)} = \frac{135}{150} = 0.9

n(E∩S) = 95

The probability that the fluent in  English and Swahili

P(SnE) = \frac{n(SnE)}{n(T)} = \frac{95}{150} = 0.633

<u><em>Step(ii):</em></u>-

The probability that a student chosen at random is fluent in English or Swahili.

P(S∪E) = P(S) + P(E) - P(S∩E)

           = 0.833+0.9-0.633

           = 1.1

<u><em>Final answer:-</em></u>

The probability that a student chosen at random is fluent in English or Swahili.

P(S∪E) = 1.1

Solve the system of equations using the substitution method. y=2+1/4x,
skelet666 [1.2K]

Answer: (4,3)

Step-by-step explanation:

1. In this method you must solve one of the equation for one of the variables and substitute it into the other equation to find the other variable. Then, substitute the value of that variable into one of the original equation to obtain the value of the other one.

2 You have that:

y=2+1/4x

3. Then, you can substitute it into the other equation and solve for x:

3x-5(2+1/4x)=-3\\3x-10-5/4x=-3\\7/4x=7\\x=4

4. Now you can obtain y:

y=2+1/4x

y=2+1/4(4)\\y=3

5. The answer is:

(4,3)
