2m+5=5(m-7)-3m equals??
Svetradugi [14.3K]
2m+5=5(m-7)-3m
first, use distributive property...
2m+5=5m-35-3m
next, combine like terms on the right side...
2m+5=2m-35
next, subtract 2m from both sides.
2m+5=2m-35
-2m   -2m
you will get....
5=-35 in which is not true. This means the equation has no solution.

-3x + 4y = 12<br> 3x – 6y = 18<br> Answer has to be (x,y)
navik [9.2K]

Answer:

(24, -15)

Step-by-step explanation:

-3x + 4y = 12

3x – 6y = 18

Add the two equations together to first solve for y

-2y=30

y=-15

Enter -15 into one of the equations to solve for x

-3x + 4(-15) = 12

-3x-60=12

-3x=72

x=24

Hope this helps! Please mark brainliest :)

Find the missing side lengths. Leave your answers as radicals in simplest form.
Citrus2011 [14]

This is the isosceles right triangle, the diagonal of a square, the thing that so upset the Pythagoreans. The two sides and diagonal of a square are in ratio 1:1:\sqrt{2} so we get

u = v =  8

We could have also gotten this using Trig:

u = (8 \sqrt{2}) \sin 45^\circ = 8 \sqrt{2}/\sqrt{2} = 8

v = (8\sqrt{2})\cos 45^\circ = 8

Or by recognizing u=v because remaining angle is 45 so this must be isosceles so

u^2 + u^2 = (8 \sqrt{2})^2

2u^2 = 2 (8^2)

u = 8
