Mathematics

We know that TV = TU + UV. Let's plug the values from the picture into our equation.

x + 25 = 9 + 2x + 28.

Let's combine like terms on the right side.

x + 25 = 2x + 37

Subtract 37 and x from both sides.

-12 = x

TV = x + 25 = -12 + 25 = 13

UV = 2x + 28 = 2(-12) + 28 = -24 + 28 = 4

Eliminate the parameter t. Then use the rectangular equation to sketch the plane curve represented by the given parametric equat
____ [38]

Answer:

9x^2+4y^2=36

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given that

x=2cos t

y=3 sin t

0\leq t\leq 2\pi

cost=\frac{x}{2}

sint=\frac{y}{3}

sin^2 t+cos^2 t=(\frac{x}{2})^2+(\frac{y}{3})^2

1=\frac{x^2}{4}+\frac{y^2}{9}

By using the formula

sin^2\theta+cos^2\theta=1

1=\frac{9x^2+4y^2}{36}

9x^2+4y^2=36

The vertex of this parabola is at (-2, 5). Which of the following could be it’s equation? A. Y=3(x+2)^2-5 B. Y=3(x-2)^2-5 C. Y=3
Mariulka [41]

Answer:  C. y=3(x+2)^{2} +5

Step-by-step explanation:

1. You have the following equation of the parabola in Vertex form:

y=a(x-h)^{2}+k

Where h is the x-coordinate of the vextex and k is the y-coordinate of the vextex.

2. You know that the vertex of this parabola is at (-2, 5), then, susbtitute this point into the equation. Then, you obtain:

y=3(x+2)^{2}+5

3. Therefore, the answer is the option C.
