What is the relationship between the movement of the atmosphere and the movement of surface currents?

The surface currents and the lower atmosphere movements are connected to one another. Namely, the surface currents influence the temperature and the humidity of the air masses above them. Also, the movement of the surface currents to a certain direction is causing the movement of the air masses above them. So we have a situation where the surface currents with their properties influence the type of the air masses above them, as well as the direction of the movement of those air masses. Because of this it is very easy to predict the type and direction of movement of an air mass if we know the type and direction of movement of a surface current.

The movement of the atmosphere or atmospheric circulation refers to the movement of air. Surface currents are ocean currents that don’t depend on weather but are influenced by global wind patterns, the rotation of the Earth, and the shape of the ocean basins.

Both, the movement of atmosphere and surface current distribute heat around the planet and consequently,  influence climate.

When air and the ocean are at a different temperature heat transfer by conduction occurs. On the other hand, the ocean absorbs energy from the sun, and during the precipitation, it releases heat energy into the atmosphere.

Researchers investigated the effect of urea on the three-dimensional structure of a certain enzyme. The researchers dissolved th
makkiz [27]

Answer:

Function will be disrupted by adding the urea and regained by removing the urea.

Explanation:

The protein is one of the important biomolecule made of the polymers of the alpha amino acids that are linked together by peptide bonds. The protein works at their specific pH.

Denaturants disrupt the 3 dimensional structure of protein that affect their normal functioning. In the given experiment, the urea acts as denaturant and disrupt the protein structure. The removal of urea will reverse the denaturant condition and protein gain its function.

Thus, the correct answer is option (a).

Select all that are true. A short tandem repeat (STR):
Thepotemich [5.8K]

Answer:

C. Is a repeated sequence of DNA in a non- coding sequence

D. Can be composed of a variable number of repeats in different people

Explanation:

Short Tandem Repeats (STRs) are short DNA motifs, i.e., short nucleotide repeat units (generally 2-7 base pairs in size) that may have a different number of repeats among individuals (alleles). Polymorphic STR sequences are very useful genetic markers and therefore they are used for different purposes, e.g., for constructing genome linkage maps, identification of individuals and/or populations, paternity testing, etc. For example, in the USA, the Combined DNA Index System (CODIS) is a databank that stores different DNA profiles based on 13 core STR <em>loci</em> which are used in forensic identity testing.
