First we are going to express both equation in terms of y to compare their slopes:
For our first equation:
-x=1-y
-x-1=-y
y=x+1
For our second equation:
-1+y=x+2
y=x+3
So now we have our system of equations in terms of y:
\left \{ {{y=x+1} \atop {y=x+3}} \right.
Notice that the slope, the coefficient of x, in both equations is the same: 1, and if tow linear equations have the same slope, they are parallel.

We can conclude that we can classify the system of equations as parallel.

Which of the following is not a case of direct variation?a Number of sheets of some kind and increased when their total weight i
VladimirAG [237]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

If two variables, x and y have a direct variation, it means that an increase in x would lead to a corresponding increase in y. A decrease on x would lead to a corresponding decrease in y.

Therefore, we would compare the scenarios to determine which is not a direct variation. The correct option is

d) Time taken will be less if number of workers are increased to complete the same work.

The rest are direct variation scenarios

There are 20 students
12 are boys
what fraction are boys
kotegsom [21]

Answer:

This will be 12/20

Step-by-step explanation:

You take the number of favourable outcomes (12, as there are 12 boys) and take the number of total outcomes (20, as there are 20 people in total). Then you do the number of favourable outcomes over the number of total outcomes. This equals 12/20. I hope this helps
