Mathematics

Answer:

12 feet

Step-by-step explanation:

1. We know that the hypotenuse is 15 ft and the base is 9, know we can apply it into the pythagorean theorem

a = side of right triangle  = 9 ft.

b = side of right triangle  = ?

c = hypotenuse                = 15 ft.

a^2 + b^2 = c^2

2. Rearrange the equation so b is equal to a and c

b^2 = c^2 -  a^2

3. Apply into the equation with the information we know

b^2 = 15^2 -  9^2

4. Simplify by multiplying the square root of 15 and 9

b^2 = 15^2 -  9^2

b^2 = 225 -  81

5. Simplify by subtracting

b^2 = 144

6. Find the square root of 144

b= √(144)

b = 12

Hope this helped :)

DZ,2 of X is

(0, -4)
(2, -2)
(6, 2)
alexira [117]

Answer:

The correct option is 3. The image of X is X'(6,2).

Step-by-step explanation:

D_{Z,2} means the dialation by scale factor 2 and the center of dilation is Z.

If a figure dilated by scale factor k and the center of dilation is (a,b), then

(x,y)\rightarrow (k(x-a)+a,k(y-b)+b)

From the given figure it is clear that the coordinates of X are (4,0) and the coordinates of Z are (2,-2), so the coordinates of image are

X(4,0)\rightarrow X'(2(4-2)+2,2(0+2)-2)

X(4,0)\rightarrow X'(6,2)

The image of X is X'(6,2). Therefore the correct option is 3.

The value of a boat is $23,400. it loses 8% of its value every year. find the approximate monthly percent decrease in value. rou
bonufazy [111]

Given: -
Value of boat = $23,400
Loss of value by boat per year = 8%
To find: - Monthly percent decrease in value of boat.
Solution: - Decrease of value per year = 8% of $23,400 = $1,872. Monthly decrease in value = $1,872/12 = $156. Monthly percentage decrease = ($156/$23,400) * 100 = 0.6667 or 0.67 (rounded to nearest hundredth)
