Protein composes 10-30% of cell mass and is the basic structural material of the body. However, not all proteins are constructio
Andreas93 [3]

Answer:

Amino acids

Explanation:

Like a house, every molecule is formed of units (blocks) that determine their structure and function. Proteins have a diverse functions in the body and are very important in multiple biological processes.  Proteins are molecules called polymers (molecules formed by monomers), the simplest units of proteins are the amino acids (building blocks). The amino acids are bind together by peptide bonds and when the chain of amino acids is less than 30 is called peptide and more than 30 is called protein. Every amino acid has a special structure and the type and number of aminoacids determinate the structure and function of the protein.

Explain how in glycolysis that the splitting of one glucose molecule results in 4 ATP but there is only a net gain of 2 ATP.
suter [353]
During glycolisys in cytoplasm, first step involves adding two phosphates to glucose molecule. This step requires the use of two ATP molecules. The next step is splitting 6 carbons glucose into two 3 carbons pyruvates. This step produces 4 ATPs and 2 NADHs. However, since we used up two ATPs during the initial phosphorylation, the net gain is only 2 ATPs

How would you separate a mixture of Iron filings, sand, salt an wood chips (go into detail)
anyanavicka [17]
First I would use a magnet to get the iron filings out then I would use a sieve to separate the wood chips from the sand and salt. After this pour water into the sand and salt and put it through filter paper, the salt will go through as it is dissolved in water and the sand will be left behind. Place this salt solution into a dish and put it over a flame, the water will evaporate and leave the salt behind
