Spermatogenesis produces four functioning gametes, and oogenesis produces one large gamete with three polar bodies. Statement A is correct. In spermatogenesis, all the four gametes are functional whereas in oogenesis only one large gamete serves as an ovum while other 3 degenerate and they are termed as polar bodies. During oogenesis, gamete production i.e. ovum production doesn't occur like spermatogenesis . During oogenesis, there arrives a stage when gamete production is halted at diplotene/diakinesis stage of meiosis - I and this is known as first meiotic arrest. During this process a polar body is generated. Thenafter, at the time of puberty meiosis resumes, but it is again arrested at meiosis -II stage. This is known as second meiotic arrest. This process is completed only when the sperm arrives and produces another polar body.

Would you expect endangered species to be more frequently generalists or specialists? explain your answer.
Vikki [24]
You should expect an endangered species to be more SPECIALIST. Animal species that can live in different types of environment and which can survive on different types of food are called generalist. This type of animal specie can not be easily endangered because they have high level of survival. The specialist animal species on the other hand are adapted to a narrow range of food and environment. Specialist species can be easily wipe out if there food resources is exhausted or if their habitat is destroyed.

The fact that choanoflagellates and collar cells of sponges resemble each other supports the inference that ________. Group of a
antoniya [11.8K]

Answer:

choanoflagellates and sponges are sister groups

Explanation:

The choanoflagellates are small unicellular organisms belonging to the Protista kingdom. These microorganisms are collared flagellates morphologically similar to the choanocyte cells of animal sponges, which have a central flagellum surrounded by a collar of microvilli. In consequence, it has been suggested that choanoflagellates may represent the closest living relatives of primitive metazoans (i.e., they are sister groups to sponges). This hypothesis has recently been supported by both molecular phylogenetic and comparative genomic analyses.

Complementary DNA? please help
topjm [15]

Answer: From top to bottom- T, C, G, A, T, A, T

Explanation:

These are the nitrogenous bases that make up a part of nucleotides in DNA.

There are 4 bases in DNA:

- Adenine

- Guanine

- Thymine

- Cytosine

The bases pair together from A to T and G to C, the way I remember is just reading it as AT GC and it works for me, but you make want to make an acronym if it helps you remember better.

As a result, all you have to do is type in the corresponding base to form the correct base pairs.
