No when x=0
y=0-7
so y intercept is -7

He is wrong because in the equation that you clearly stated which is y=3x-7 the y intercept is -7 as in negative 7 not positive 7 the normal equation goes like this : y=mx+b. y is the total ... Mx is the Slope .... And b is the y intercept ... If you want to know how to graph it it's simple.. Y=3x-7 The y intercept is -7 so you have to graph or plot it .. On the Y axis you go 7 point a down and you put a dot there. Now you are done with the first step.. You see 3x as the Slope and you obviously need a slope so your need to change the Slope into a fraction so just make 3x over 1 .. When you have a whole number like this always put this over one. Now we are going to do the rise over run method. This mean.. Rise is up and down run is right and left the numerator in the slope is 3 and it is also a positive number so you go 3 digits up from -7. Your not done yet you still have the dominator which is the 1 according to the rise over run method we passed rises now run. Number 1 is a positive donimnator so you go to the right. now you got your graphing solved. Ok y=3x-7 Locate -7 in the y intercept than 3 up and 1 to the right now your done graphing. I answered your question in the beginning of the sentence however I ADDED information that you will need to know around 7th or 8th grade or later on the unit you have now. your welcome :)

PLEASE HELP LOTS OF POINTS!!!!!!!! TWO QUESTIONS!!!!!!!!!
zubka84 [21]

Answer: Number one would be 3x+2y+-14 and x+y=-4, second one is x=-3, y=7

Step-by-step explanation:

The first one is solved by inputting the x and y in each one and finding which one comes out true, the second on is solved by substitution. to find x you would subtract x in the first equation and make it y=4-x then input that equation in the y in the second equation.

Evaluate the expression. r = , v = , w = v ⋅ w
FromTheMoon [43]

Answer:

v . w= -13

Step-by-step explanation:

Evaluate the expression: v ⋅ w Given the vectors: r = <8, 1, -6>; v = <6, 7, -3>; w = <-7, 5, 2>

Solution

Given the vectors:

r = <8, 1, -6>

v = <6, 7, -3>

w = <-7, 5, 2>

If you're asking about the dot product.

The dot product is a scalar. It is the sum of the product of the corresponding components.

v.w = (6*-7) + (7*5) + (-3*2)

= -42+35-6

= -13.

the length of a side of a square is 10x+4 units. If the perimeter is 96 units. What is the area of the square?
dmitriy555 [2]

Answer:

576 Units

Step-by-step explanation:

The way your teacher wants you to do it:

1. We know that multiplying a length by four gives us the perimeter of a square.

1a. Thus, we multiply the given length by four. 4(10x+4)=40x+16

1b. We know the perimeter is 96. So: 40x+16=96

2. Solving for x, we get x=2

3. Plugging our solved x into the given length  (10x+4), we see that the length of a side of the square is 10*2+4=24.

4. We know that the area of a square can be found by squaring the side of a square.

4a. 24*24=576.

5. The area is 576 units.

--------------------------------------------------------------

Easier Solution:

1. We know that the perimeter is length*4.

2. We set L to length.

2a. 4L=96

2b. L=24

3. We know that the length square is area.

4. 24*24=576.
