My supervisor uses the democratic leadership style. He allows us to air our views before a final decision is taken. This leadership style is effective because it allows people to be part of the decision making process. It also allows people to be in a position where they also take ownership of the work knowing that their efforts are very well-appreciated. This type of leadership style is know as servant-leadership.
