Answer: see image attached

y<x/2+6 is the yellowish area (with dashed boundary as that does not belong to the solution space)

x+3y>=12 is rearranged as y>=-x/3+4 and solutions correspond to the bluish shaded area (with solid line, due to the equal sign)

The solutions satisfying both inequalities are in the overlap area of the two.

<, > - boundary line is dashed

≤, ≥ - boundary line is solid

y < \dfrac{1}{2}x+6\to y=\dfrac{1}{2}x+6\\\\for\ x=0\to y=\dfrac{1}{2}(0)+6=0+6=6\to(0,\ 6)\\\\for\ x=-6\to y=\dfrac{1}{2}(-6)+6=-3+6=3\to (-6,\ 3)\\\\\text{we shade below the line}\\\\x+3y\geq12\qquad|-x\\\\3y\geq-x+12\qquad|:3\\\\y\geq-\dfrac{1}{3}x+4\to y=-\dfrac{1}{3}x+4\\\\for\ x=0\to y=-\dfrac{1}{3}(0)+4=0+4=4\to(0,\ 4)\\\\for\ x=6\to y=-\dfrac{1}{3}(6)+4=-2+4=2\to(6,\ 2)\\\\\text{we shade above the line}\\

Is (–5, 0.5) a solution of this system? x – 4y = –7, 0.2x + 2y = 0 Substitute (–5, 0.5) into x – 4y = –7 to get . Substitute (–5
kaheart [24]

<u>ANSWER: </u>

(-5, 0.5) is the solution of given equation x – 4y = –7, 0.2x + 2y = 0.

<u>SOLUTION: </u>

Given, two equations are x – 4y = -7 → (1)

And 0.2x + 2y = 0 → (2)

We have to find whether (-5, 0.5) is a solution of given system or not.

For that, we have to solve the given two equations.

Before solving let us multiply equation (2) with 2 in order to get y terms cancelled. Such that, our  process becomes easy.

Now equation (2) becomes

0.4x + 4y = 0 → ( 3 )

Now, add equation (1) and equation (3), we get

1.4x + 0 = -7

x=\frac{-7}{1.4}=-5

Now, substitute x value in (2)

0.2(-5) + 2y = 0

-1 + 2y = 0

2y = 1

y = 0.5

So, the solution for given equations is (-5, 0.5).

Hence (-5, 0.5) is the solution of given equations.

A standard six-sided number cube is rolled. Find the probability of the given event. 1. an even number or a one
RSB [31]

1) probability of getting an even number or one: 2/3

2)probability of getting six or a number less than 3: 1/2

3)probability of getting even number or a number greater than five: 1/2

4)probability of getting an odd number or number divisible by 3: 2/3

Step-by-step explanation:

Sample space = {1,2,3,4,5,6}

Total number of possible outcome = 6

1) probability of getting an even number or one:

Sample space = {1,2,4,6}

P= 4/6

= 2/3

2) probability of getting six or a number less than 3:

Sample space = {1,2,6}

P= 3/6

= 1/2

3) probability of getting even number or a number greater than five:

Sample space= {2,4,6}

P= 3/6

= 1/2

4) probability of getting an odd number or number divisible by 3:

Sample space= {1,3,5,6}

P= 4/6

= 2/3
