Because air has an index of refraction of essentially 1 and water<span> has an index of refraction of 1.33 the angle from which the rays of light reach your eyes is </span>larger<span> than the angle they would in air. This makes the angular size </span>larger<span> to your eyes which makes the </span>object look larger <span>relative to how they would </span>look<span> in air.</span>

Answer: Refraction

Explanation:

Looking from above, an object under water appears larger than it does in air. It's not that the image the light gave our eyes is bigger. It's that the image is actually closer to our eyes, since the light is not passing straight down, but is instead bending relative to the water's surface. Light passing straight down would be perpendicular to the water's surface, like the vertical line on the letter T. A closer image looks bigger--the underwater object is magnified.

A car covers a distance of 22.75 km in 17.04 minutes. Use dimensional analysis to calculate its speed in meters/second. Do not e
kati45 [8]

The speed of the car = 22.25 m/s

<h3>Further explanation</h3>

Given

A distance of 22.75 km

Time = 17.04 minutes

Required

The speed (in m/s)

Solution

Speed is the ratio of distance per time

Can be formulated :

v = d/t

v= speed, m/s

d=distance=m

t=time,s

Input the value :

\tt v=\dfrac{22.75~km}{17.04~minutes}\times \dfrac{1000~m}{1~km}\times \dfrac{1~minute}{60~second}\\\\v=\boxed{\bold{22.25~m/s}}

What is the molar concentration of the B⁻ ions in 0.22 M XB₃(aq)?
Snowcat [4.5K]
In this question, XB3(aq) is an ionic compound which will have the releasing of 3 B⁻ ions ions in water for every molecule of XB3 that dissolves.
XB3(s) --> X+(aq) + 3 B⁻(aq)
            [B⁻] = 0.22 mol XB3/1L × 3 mol B⁻ / 1 mol XB3 = 0.66 M
The answer to this question is [B⁻] = 0.66 M

Based on the image below, which item is your limiting reactant?(A) Ice cream scoopB) Cone(C) Cherry
liubo4ka [24]

According to the image, we can say that to form an ice cream unit you need 1 scoop of ice cream, 1 cone, and 1 cherry. In other words, the ratio between all the reactants is 1 to 1. Therefore, the limiting reactant will be the one with the least number of units.

If we count the amount of each of the reactants we have:

• 10 scoops of ice cream

,

• 7 cones

,

• 12 cherries

In less quantity are the cones, that is to say, that at most we can assemble 7 ice creams. Therefore, the limiting reactant will be the cone.

Answer: (B) Cone
