The bill of rights grants rights to every citizen. The purpose of the bill of rights was to protect the rights of US citizens. It guaranteed freedom. It was ratified in 1789. Bill of rights is often called as Declaration of Rights or charter of rights which listed important rights to the citizens. Its main purpose was to protect these rights from any kind of infringement from the government.  

There are two types of rights entrenched and un entrenched. Entrenched Bill of rights cannot be repealed by the country‘s legislature by any regular procedure. The bill of rights that is un entrenched are normal statue law. It can be modified and repealed by the legislative branch of the government. The Bill of Rights is environmental protection, inheritance and marriage, Justice, general welfare. The history of the bill of rights dates back to the middle ages like Magna Carta. It was influenced by the age of Enlightenment. The bill of rights was ratified in 1791 after the Constitution was adopted in 1789. The 20th century has different groups that look into different documents influence like the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
