Answer: 2.75×10^-7m

Explanation:

The work function refers to the smallest energy a photon must posses in order to cause the ejection of electrons from a metal surface.

If Eo= hfo

Eo=work function of the metal

fo=threshold frequency

h= Plank's constant

But Eo= hf= hc/wavelength

Wavelength= hc/Eo

We convert Eo to joules

4.50×1.6×10^-19=7.2×10^-19J

c=3×10^8ms-1

h=6.6×10^-34Js

Wavelength= 3×10^8×6.6×10^-34/7.2×10^-19

2.75×10^-7m

What is true of a sulfide ion (S2-)?
ratelena [41]

Answer: D) It has two more electrons than protons.

Explanation: Sulphur (S) is an element with atomic number 16 and thus contains 16 electrons. A neutral atom contains equal number of protons and electrons.

S:16:[Ne]3s^23p^4

An atom on losing electrons gains positive charge and on gaining electrons gain negative charge.

Sulphide ion (S^{2-}) is formed by gaining 2 electrons to attain stable configuration of argon and thus contains two more electrons than protons.

S^{2-}:18:[Ne]3s^23p^6:[Ar]

In an ionic bond:
xz_007 [3.2K]
The answer I'm pretty sure is a because it can't be d because ionic binding the electrons are affected and it can't be c because that's covalent bonding and it can't be b because they don't swap electrons.
