Answer:

1+\sqrt{2}

Step-by-step explanation:

If a quadratic equation is defined as

ax^2+bx+c=0          .... (1)

then the quadratic formula is

x=\dfrac{-b\pm \sqrt{b^2-4ac}}{2a}

The given quadratic equation is

0=-x^2+2x+1

It can we written as

-x^2+2x+1=0             .... (2)

On comparing (1) and (2) we get

a=-1,b=2,c=1

Substitute these values in the quadratic formula.

x=\dfrac{-2\pm \sqrt{2^2-4(-1)(1)}}{2(-1)}

x=\dfrac{-2\pm \sqrt{4+4}}{-2}

x=\dfrac{-2\pm \sqrt{8}}{-2}

x=\dfrac{-2\pm 2\sqrt{2}}{-2}

Taking out common factors.

x=\dfrac{-2(1\pm \sqrt{2})}{-2}

x=1\pm \sqrt{2}

Two roots are

x=1+\sqrt{2} and x=1-\sqrt{2}

We know that

\sqrt{2}=1.41

So

1

Therefore, root x=1+\sqrt{2} is positive and x=1-\sqrt{2} is negative.

Answer:

RST

Step-by-step explanation:

Look at the angles for M, N and O. They are equal to 79, 60, and 42 degrees, respectively. Now look at the triangle to the right of triangle MNO. In what order should we line up the letters so that the angles for that triangle should also equal 79, 60 and 42 degrees? If you look at it for a second, you should that this problem is easy to solve! Did you get it right! That's right, by lining up the angles in the order RST, the measure of each angle is equal to the measures of MNO.

Please help with 1 & 2

First question:

I urge you to perform the division using the synthetic division method:

      ________________
-4  /   1   3   -6   -6   8
             -4    4     8  -8
       -----------------------
         1   -1   -2    2    0

Note that there is no remainder.  When this is the case, the divisor (here, that's -4) is a root of the given polynomial, and the value of that polynomial, g(-4), is 0.

If the remainder were not 0, then the remainder represents the value of the polynomial for that particular divisor.  For example, if x = -3, the remainder is -28.  We'd write that as g(-3) = -28.

But here, g(-4) = 0.

Gennadij [26K]

Answer:

You are given such data:

In the 12th grade total of 48 students, only 13 students participate in at least one extracurricular activity and 48 - 13 = 35 students do not participate.

In 11th grade total of 106 - 48 = 58 students, 37 students participate in at least one extracurricular activity and 58 - 37 = 21 students do not participate.

<em>good luck, i hope this helps :) </em>
