S=2c AND s-16=c+16
Use substitution so...
2c-16=c+16
C=32
S=2c so s=64

Check: s-16=c+16...64-16=32+16...48=48

So Cassandra is 32 and Seymour’s is 64

Answer:

\frac{6}{7}

Step-by-step explanation:

For this problem, the fraction is out of 7 so all the values less than 7 is 1-6. So the probability is going to be \frac{6}{7}

Hope this helps.

Kevin can mow the lawn in 1.5 hours. Together, Kevin and Eric can mow the lawn in 30 minutes. How long will it take Eric to mow
xeze [42]

Answer:

45

Step-by-step explanation:

These work problems are always done in terms of fractions ie if both (Kevin & Eric) took 30mins to mow and Kevin took 1.5hrs (90mins) alone then we can make an equation like below

1/time took for both = 1/time took for Kevin + 1/time took for Eric

1/30 = 1/90+1/x    ==> calling time took for Kevin x

solving the above 1/x = 1/30-1/90

1/x=2/90

x=45

Joshua goes to a local farmers market and see sinuses apples $9.80 per 10 pound bag which is a unit rate of the price per pound
horrorfan [7]

Answer:

$0.98

Step-by-step explanation:

Given data

Cost of sinuses apples = $9.8 for 10 pound

We want to find the cost per pound

Hence

if 10 pounds cost $9.8

  1 pound will cost x

cross multiply

x= 9.8/10

x= $0.98

Hence a pound will cost $0.98

On each of ner birthdays. Bernadette blew out a number of candles
marissa [1.9K]

Answer:

5778

Step-by-step explanation:

1+2+3+4+5+....+105+106+107

The sequence of numbers (1, 2, 3, … , 107) is arithmetic and when we are looking for the sum of a sequence, we call it a series. Thanks to Gauss, there is a special formula we can use to find the sum of a series:

S=n(n+1)/2=11556÷2=5778

S is the sum of the series and n is the number of terms in the series, in this case, 107

There are other ways to solve:

This is an arithmetic series, for which the formula is:

S = n[2a+(n-1)d]/2

where a is the first term, d is the difference between terms, and n is the number of terms.

For the sum of the first 107 whole numbers:

a = 1, d = 1, and n = 107

Therefore, sub into the formula:

S = 107[2(1)+(107-1)(1)]/2 =

107(2+106)/2=107*108/2=5778

so she blow out 5778 candless during her lifetime
